Simferopil College of Kyiv National Economic University was established on the basis of the technical schools of public catering and of trade. The college trains specialists taking into consideration the demand for specialists of catering and trading companies. The students are taught in the following directions: “Technologies of catering”, “Commodity research and Commercial activity” and “Accounting”.

The demand for the specialists of the college in the Autonomous Crimean Republic is very high. In 2005 there were more job vacancies than graduates of the College. High demand for our graduates can be explained by:
- high level of specialists’ preparation. The educational establishment has the necessary material base, highly qualified teaching staff and good methodical basis;
- the increase of the number of catering and trading companies with high demand for professional preparation of their employees;
- stable long-term relations with catering and trading companies (the College has signed long-term cooperation agreements on specialists’ training in cooperation with catering and trading companies, the administration of the college discusses curriculum with them, students complete their internship programs in these companies, the educational establishment is provided with guidelines, documents, computer programs. Staff of the catering and trading companies take part in the teaching process, out-of-school activities, discussions of internship programs, analysis of state qualification exams);
- participation of our students in different competitions where they always receive first prizes which enhances the popularity of college graduates, and improves the image of the profession.

Much attention is paid to the implementation of new ideas, approaches, and innovative forms of teacher-student relations:
- Good breeding comes before training.
- Not to exercise influence as a teacher, but to work in cooperation with the students.
- Student is not an object of education, he is its participant.
- Teaching of equals by equals.
- Partner relations, as education is business, in which everybody can obtain the starting capital – profession.
- Respectful attitude to each other including friendship, mutual understanding and mutual respect.

Simferopil College of KNEU can be proud of its good system of specialists’ training for catering and trading companies. The result of which is full employment of the graduates of the College.
